Do you have questions about our Christmas season? We have compiled a series of FAQs based on the inquiries we have received thus far. See our answers to the most asked questions below!

Will you have different business hours?

As of Monday, November 8th, our hours of operation will be changing for the Christmas season. Monday through Friday we will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays we will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are closed every Sunday.

Are you having your Christmas Open House?

We will not be hosting our Christmas Open House this year. We will, however, be hosting an event on Thursday, November 18th to give back to our community and support those in need. Stay tuned for an official announcement and more details on this event! You don’t want to miss it!

When will everything be decorated?

Vermeer’s has been transformed for Christmas! Our displays are as beautiful as ever and our shelves are stocked with Christmas items. If you are unable to visit our store in-person to see our lovely Christmas displays, not to worry! We will be doing a Pinterest reveal of our 2021 Christmas themes and displays on Saturday, November 13th. If you aren’t following us on Pinterest yet, be sure to do so before the 13th so you don’t miss out on the reveal.

Will you have any in-person workshops or demonstrations?

Unfortunately, we will not have any in-person holiday themed workshops or demonstrations. We will be putting together some Christmas themed kits that can be completed in the comfort of your own home. These kits are geared towards kids and will be available for purchase online mid to late November. We will also be sharing tips for making bows, decorating and more on our various social media platforms! If that interests you, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

When will your Christmas greens and fresh cut Christmas trees be in?

Our Christmas greens have arrived and can be purchased in-store. We have a variety of fresh wreaths, swags, garlands and bundles available while quantities last. Our fresh cut Christmas trees have not arrived yet, but we expect them to start arriving in the next week or so.

Can I come in to order a custom porch pot? 

Absolutely! We are taking custom porch pot orders in-store. If you have not ordered a custom porch pot from us before, we have put together a list of do’s and don’ts so you know what to expect and how to prepare your porch pot inserts and decorations before bringing them in to our designers. Even if you have ordered a custom porch pot from us before, we encourage you to review the information in our blog so that dropping off your porch pot materials will be as seamless as possible.

Will you be making any custom bows, wreaths, floral arrangements, etc.?

Yes! As always, we look forward to offering custom design work. Our Design Centre is now open!

Will you be selling a giving tree ornament again this year?

A few years ago we started a tradition called The Giving Tree in which we donated the proceeds from the sale of a specific ornament to local charities. We are happy to announce that The Giving Tree is back! The Giving Tree ornament for 2021 is a beautiful acrylic dove, which is pictured below. We also have a festive red cardinal and acrylic snowflakes available while supplies last. Help us continue this wonderful tradition and raise money to support Open Arms Mission, Rose City Kids and Pathstone Mental Health. Giving tree ornaments are $6.99 each and are available for purchase both in-store and online.

Are you offering any Christmas giftwrapping?

We will be offering giftwrapping during the Christmas season. The cost will be $2 per item (no tax) and all giftwrapping proceeds will be donated to a specific cause. During the month of November, all of the proceeds from our $2 giftwrapping charge will be donated to Gillian’s Place. Please note that we only giftwrap using cellophane and ribbon. We do not have any wrapping paper or decorative bags. All plant material and floral arrangements will be wrapped in paper or put into a bag to protect them from the cold. This does not count as giftwrapping.

Is your online store still open? Will you still be offering contactless curbside pickup?

Yes, our online store is still open. While unfortunately not everything you see in-store is available for purchase online, we are constantly updating our online selection and stock of tropical plants and floral pieces. In fact, we are currently revamping the floral options on our website. There will be more online floral options than ever before! Contactless curbside pickup and local delivery options for online orders are available.

What is your Christmas return policy?

Christmas products (ornaments, picks, tabletop decorations, artificial wreaths/swags, etc.) purchased both in-store and online can be returned for a full refund with an original receipt until Saturday, December 11th, 2021. All tags must be attached. Christmas products purchased in-store as Christmas gifts can be exchanged or returned for store credit in the form of a gift card with a gift receipt up until Monday, January 3rd, 2022. Plant material, floral arrangements & Christmas greens are final sale.

Regular priced giftware and pots purchased both in-store and online can be returned for a full refund with an original receipt within 30 days of purchase. All tags must be attached. Regular priced giftware and pots purchased in-store as Christmas gifts can be exchanged or returned for store credit in the form of a gift card with a gift receipt up until Monday, January 3rd, 2022.

All fashion items (clothing, hats, scarves, purses, etc.) purchased in-store as Christmas gifts can be exchanged or returned for store credit in the form of a gift card with a gift receipt up until Monday, January 3rd, 2022. All tags must be attached. All fashion items purchased online are final sale. All jewelry is final sale.

All clearance items are final sale.

What sort of precautions are you taking for COVID-19?

Rest assured that we are still taking all the necessary precautions during COVID-19 to keep both our customers and staff members safe by implementing various social distancing and sanitization measures, such as having barriers at our cash registers, directional arrows and signage in place, sanitizing shopping carts and baskets, etc. When visiting our store, please wear a face covering that covers your nose, mouth and chin as required by the Niagara Region face covering by-law.
